Adam J. Hodkin

Adam Hodkin serves as of-counsel to Chane Socarras, PLLC and focuses on complex business litigation, with an emphasis on insurance, real estate, and contract litigation. Adam, who has over 31 years experience, previously served as a litigation partner at Holland & Knight LLP, one of the country’s largest law firms. Then, Adam became a founding partner of his own law firm in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he managed teams of attorneys handling a variety of matters for domestic and international corporations, including complex trial and arbitration work involving multi-million dollar class actions, real estate disputes, corporate contract issues, stock purchases, corporate acquisitions, international commercial litigation simultaneously managed in multiple jurisdictions, privacy cases, banking and insurance fraud, breaches of contract, negligence, lender liability, and common law fraud.

Bio

Prior to forming his recent private law practice, Adam served as a Regional Manager for Fidelity National Financial, a Fortune 500, publicly traded company, for all real estate related matters involving the company in California, Arizona, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, Hawaii, and Guam. As the regional manager, Adam was the senior officer and head of Fidelity’s regional claims department, directing the claims handling activities (including coverage and litigation management) for Fidelity’s five underwriters (Chicago Title, Ticor Title, Fidelity National Title, Security Union Title, and Alamo Title). Adam’s responsibilities included supervising over 50 in-house counsel and all outside counsel in the region.

Adam earned his Juris Doctor from the Hofstra University School of Law and Undergraduate Degree from Boston University. In 2004 and 2005, Adam was named as one of South Florida’s “Best of the Bar” by the South Florida Business Journal, and in 2008 he was a finalist for the “Top Attorneys” award in Orange County, California. He has served as a director of the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, and recently served on the Florida Bar’s Client Security Trust Fund Committee after serving as the co-chair of the Broward County Bar Association’s Professional Responsibility Committee and as chair of the American Bar Association’s Trial Evidence Committee. Adam is a member of the Florida Bar, the Bar of the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida, and the Bar of the United States Court of Appeal for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit.   In 2011, and again in 2012, Adam was named by Florida Trend Magazine as one of Florida’s Legal Elite. Adam is also rated AV® Preeminent™ by Martindale Hubbell, that organization’s highest rating. Adam was named to serve on The Florida Bar’s Clients’ Security Fund Committee for the 2012-2015 term, which was created by The Florida Bar to help compensate persons who have suffered losses due to attorney misconduct.
